The first few days...

 

We know that starting school or nursery can be both an exciting and daunting time for children and parents alike.  We also know that an unhappy child cannot play or learn effectively. Therefore, our staff always do their very best to work together with parents/carers to help a child feel confident and secure in their new environment and with this new group of people. This settling-in period can take longer for some children than others, so we encourage parents/carers not to worry if their child seems unsure at first. Often, for very young children, it's a good idea to gradually build up their time at nursery so that they learn to understand that their parent or carer is always coming back to take them home.

Please always let us know who will be collecting your child from nursery or school so that we can talk to your child about who will be coming and when.
